A conquista da Taça Guanabara do Vasco, após vencer o Fluminense na tarde deste domingo, em Manaus, foi merecida. A campanha da equipe de São Januário, apesar de ter caído um pouco de rendimento nos últimos jogos, foi regular e mostrou o valor da manutenção da base do ano passado. Além deste aspecto, vale destacar o papel fundamental de Nenê.

Nenê, de uma forma ou de outra, mudou a cara do Vasco desde que chegou em São Januário. Deu uma motivação ao elenco inexistente até então. Não sem motivo é a maior estrela do clube hoje em dia. Serve de espelho para os jovens das categorias de base – outro ponto do bom trabalho realizado pelo técnico Jorginho que vale destacar. Neste domingo esteve apagado, mas isso não tira todo o mérito que conquistou ao passar dos jogos.

Além dos gols, Nenê contribuiu ao longo dos jogos com assistências. A visão de jogo do camisa 10 do Vasco é ímpar e precisa ser aplaudida. Vejo ele com total condição de muito em breve fixar o seu nome na história como ídolo do Vasco. E será merecido. A prorrogação de seu contrato até 2018, em um esforço do presidente Eurico Miranda que precisa ser parabenizado, mostra que Nenê também tem esse pensamento de deixar a torcida vascaína feliz.

Vale destacar também o feito de Riascos. O atacante fez o gol do título neste domingo, seu contrato está no fim, mas acredito que o presidente Eurico Miranda precise se esforçar para a manutenção do colombiano no elenco. O atual vínculo de empréstimo vai até o próximo mês. O esforço vale muito e a torcida do Vasco pede isso. Será importante para o retorno à elite nacional.

Uncertainty is growing around the future of Benji Kimpioka after his contract came to an end with Sunderland at the end of June.

With the 2019/20 season over and the Black Cats missing out on promotion to the Championship from League One, manager Phil Parkinson could be drawn to make a number of significant changes to his squad as he looks to bounce back next term.

A number of first team players have already departed the Stadium of Light due to the expiration of their contracts in June with one of those being academy talent Kimpioka, whose future has now become a big talking point at the Wearside club.

The 20-year-old, who made four appearances in League One last season, spoke about his future over the weekend and revealed that he would be keen to sign a new deal with Sunderland.

Despite those comments made by the young Swedish under-21 international, Sunderland Echo have now revealed that he has been training with former club IK Sirius.

The report goes on to share a tweet from Swedish publication UNT who quizzed the young attacker on his future, asking if he would make a return to Sweden.

Replying to the question, Kimpioka seemed reluctant to make a return to his homeland: “No. That’s how I feel and I have big dreams and ambitions.”

The report suggests that Sunderland initially offered him a new deal in 2019 but with nothing agreed yet, his future remains in doubt.

This is certainly an interesting situation. It certainly seems that the player is keen to agree fresh terms at the Stadium of Light and the club are hoping that he will stay, but for whatever reason the two parties are yet to agree to a deal and things seem to be deadlocked.

It may be that Kimpioka is fully assessing his options before committing, perhaps to see if he could get more first team football elsewhere having only made four appearances in the 19/20 campaign.

A nervous wait lies ahead for the Black Cats.

وحل أتالانتا ضيفًا على إنتر ميلان ضمن مباريات الأسبوع السادس للدوري الإيطالي، على ملعب “جوزيبي مياتزا”.

وتقدم لاوتارو مارتينيز بهدف مبكر، وسجل لإنتر ميلان في الدقيقة الخامسة من عمر المباراة.

ثم تعادل روسلان مانيلوفسكي لأتالانتا بهدف في الدقيقة 30، وعقب 8 دقائق، أضاف رافائيل تولوي الهدف الثاني للضيوف، في الدقيقة 38.

استمر تقدم أتالانتا حتى الدقيقة 71، والتي سجل فيها إدين دجيكو هدف التعادل للإنتر لتصبح النتيجة (2-2).

Premier League side West Ham United are showing interest in former Sunderland striker Josh Maja, according to Daily Mail.

After spending time through his childhood with the likes of Fulham, Crystal Palace and Manchester City, centre-forward Maja would make an impression at the Stadium of Light which would lead to his first team debut in September 2016.

After a good first full season with the Black Cats, the young Nigerian left in January 2019 for a move to French top-tier side Bordeaux but his time in Ligue 1 now seems to be coming to an end.

Six goals and two assists during the 2019/2020 season has seen his reputation remain intact and Scottish Premiership side Rangers have also been credited with interest in the last couple of days.

Now reported to have joined Steven Gerrard’s side with interest in Maja are Premier League club West Ham, who remained in England’s top flight after season of battling against relegation.

The Hammers are expected to be an enticing proposition for the striker due to David Moyes being the London stadium club’s boss, the man who handed Maja his debut at the Stadium of Light.

The report goes on to add that along with Maja and QPR’s Eberechi Eze, Moyes is also interested in Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

Where would Maja be best suited? Of course the lure of the Premier League is one thing but the youngster could enjoy a fruitful spell with Rangers and the challenge of going for a Scottish Premiership title next term could be exciting.

He would also potentially be more likely to get minutes at Ibrox, especially if Alfredo Morelos is sold as is expected.

For Sunderland fans, they must look on and wonder what might have been had they managed to hold on to the striker.

O personagem brincou com a imprensa e ficou o tempo todo cercado por crianças, que entregaram desenhos, frutos do projeto Time do Povo em quadrinhos, curso de pintura para os pequenos torcedores do Timão.

It’s been a week since we heard Kalvin Phillips was approached by the Jamaica national team.

The Reggae Boyz were apparently keen to build their 2022 World Cup bid around the Leeds midfielder, and it seems as though this isn’t their only ambitious bid to make talented players in England switch their allegiances.

Reports have emerged this week that the Jamaican national team are also looking towards headhunting  Mason Holgate, while Mason Greenwood and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are also eligible, add that into the fact Michael Hector and Bobby Decordova-Reid already play for the Caribbean outfit and the Jamaicans could soon line up with six Premier League players in their XI, alongside Kemar Roofe who has just signed for Rangers.

If they can convince these men to sign up they may well be contenders to qualify for the World Cup.

North America isn’t exactly a continent filled with talent, with minnows such as Panama and Honduras managing to emerge through the World Cup qualification stages in the past decade, and these players need to ponder whether or not their international chances are greater with England or Jamaica.

It’s quite clear that England are more likely to win a World Cup than Theodore Whitmore’s side, sitting 44 places above them in the FIFA World Rankings, but Phillips needs to weigh up how likely he is to be selected for a major tournament by the Three Lions considering he’s currently uncapped just a few months away from his 25th birthday.

It’s better to go to a major tournament with a team that don’t have the best chances than to sit at home and watch a team that didn’t select you go on a deep run.

Playing at a World Cup is a dream for any player, and Phillips’ best course of action may be to declare himself for Jamaica if he wants to achieve that dream.

Sobrou polêmica e discussão ao término do jogo entre Internacional e Ponte Preta, neste sábado, no Beira-Rio. O gol de Vitinho, o da vitória colorada, ocorreu após o Colorado não devolver a bola ao time de Campinas, em um gesto de fair play. Técnico do Inter e um dos “personagens” do lance, Argel Fucks negou que o Inter deveria ter devolvido a bola.

Momentos antes do gol, Alexandro colocou a bola para fora após ver Biro Biro, seu companheiro de Ponte, caído no gramado. Biro Biro foi atendido, retornou ao jogo, mas o Inter não devolveu a posse de bola. Segundo o treinador colorado, Biro Biro teria praticado o antijogo, já que teria tentado ludibriar a arbitragem ao simular uma contusão para ganhar tempo com a partida se aproximando do fim.

– Quem deu autorização foi o árbitro (Ricardo Marques Ribeiro). Ele (Biro Biro) deu um pique para o meio do campo para entrar na partida, e ninguém reclamou. A partir do momento que o William jogou o lateral, ninguém reclamou. Depois de 15 toques na bola, a gente continuou fazendo a jogada. Em momento nenhum foi fair play. Até me pareceu antijogo – destacou Argel, que discutiu com Biro Biro logo após o gol, em coletiva.

Já Carlos Pellegrini, vice de futebol do Internacional, preferiu não comentar a atitude de Argel, mas enfatizou que não havia necessidade de fair play no lance.

أكدت الصحيفة أن ميسي كان مختفيًا طوال أحداث مباراة باريس سان جيرمان ومانشستر سيتي، بل وأن إيقاع المباراة كان يتفوق عليه ورغم ذلك أحرز هدفًا.

وتحدث محلل الصحيفة، مايكل كوكس، عن مشاركات الثلاثي الهجومي لنادي باريس سان جيرمان في النواحي الدفاعية، وقال: “سيكون من الظلم إذا تحدثت عنهم ولم أقل إن كيليان مبابي لم يساهم دفاعيًا، وقام ميسي ونيمار بذلك الدور أحيانًا خلال المباراة”.

وتابع: “ليو كان وراء الحائط البشري في إحدى الركلات الحرة لمانشستر سيتي ويحاول أن يساعد الفريق، لكن لم يكن يستحوذ على الكرة بشكل كبير على مدار المباراة ومنح جواو كانسيلو (الظهير الأيسر) الراحة الكاملة ولم يتكلف أي عناء لمراقبة ميسي”.

وأضاف: “مستوى باريس سان جيرمان لم يكن كذلك يرتقي إلى المطلوب والمنتظر منه في مباراة مثل مانشستر سيتي، لا أعلم ما الهدف منذ ذلك، هل يكتفون بالفوز وحصد النقاط الثلاث؟ على الرغم من أن منافسيهم على ملعب حديقة الأمراء لا يظهرون بالأداء المناسب، هذا ما حدث من بايرن ميونخ في الموسم الماضي، ربما كان لذلك أثرًا على أداء ميسي في المباراة”.

وواصل: “وعلى الرغم من ذلك، كانت هناك مشكلة لدى باريس سان جيرمان في السيطرة على الكرة أمام لاعبي مانشستر سيتي، افتقدوا التمريرات وهذا ما ينذر بالخطر، توقف ميسي ولم تكن من جبهته أي خطورة وفشل في اختراق دفاعات المنافس وبدأ في المشي على أرض الملعب، كما لو أن الساعة قد توقفت”.

واستمر: “عندما يخسر مبابي الكرة، عليك بالنظر إلى ما يفعله ميسي لأنه يكون الأقرب للكرة ولكنه لا يحاول قطعها وبدء هجمة مرتدة جديدة، أداء الأرجنتيني هو ما جعل كانسيلو وجاك جريليش يشكلان جبهة هجومية قوية على مدار المباراة، وهنا كان سبب تفكك باريس سان جيرمان لأن ليو لا يستطيع العودة إلى لياقته البدنية المعتادة”.

وأكمل: “في وجهة نظري، ميسي لم يعد لاعب له تأثير دائم على المباريات، وإنما لاعب يجيد استغلال بعض اللحظات في المباريات، في الوقت الحالي هذا أمر معقد للمدرب، ماوريسيو بوتشيتينو، لكنه يدرك ما هي المشكلة بالفعل لأنه يضع أندير هيريرا لتغطية مكان ميسي عند الهجوم وأدريسا جايي يساعد في النواحي الدفاعية وأصبحت الخطة لباريس سان جيرمان 7-0-3 لأن الثلاثي الأمامي لا يشارك دفاعيًا”.

وأتم: “ميسي حقق الهدف الذي يسعى إلى تحقيقه بالفعل، وهو التسجيل في المباراة وهو الأهم لنادي باريس سان جيرمان، وهذا هو السبب في وجوده بهذا الفريق ألا يدافع وفقط يهاجم وهذا هو تأثيره، ولكن يجب على بوتشيتينو إيجاد التوازن بين اللاعبين لأن هذا هو ما يساعد على الفوز بالألقاب”.

Following the unfortunate end to their 2019/20 season, Bournemouth will continue in the Championship for the upcoming campaign. But that’s not exactly the only bad news for the Cherries. Without top-flight football, the chances are they just might lose some of their most exciting players in the ongoing summer transfer window.

And the line is already quite long with The Sun’s latest exclusive suggesting Liverpool are the latest Premier League titan to join the race for David Brooks’ signature. Of course, alongside the Reds, the likes of West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur and even Everton are interested and willing to acquire the young midfielder’s services this summer.

Jurgen Klopp is looking to add some depth to the English champions for the upcoming season and if the same source is to be believed, the 23-year-old could cost around £35m despite Bournemouth’s demise.

Of course, that doesn’t really come as a big surprise because Brooks was brilliant post-break, almost carrying the team to safety despite all of their issues throughout the campaign. Unfortunately, the Cherries were without their talisman for the vast majority of the season due to a serious ankle injury back in July that meant Brooks would have to undergo surgery.

Initially, he was supposed to only miss 12 weeks of action but a second operation extended that for much longer than he or the club would’ve wanted. Now, however, everything points towards an exit sooner rather than later.

Verdict

It’s quite difficult to find a weakness in Klopp’s well-oiled machine that is Liverpool. But if there’s one thing the current champions of England lack then it’s squad depth. Brook is certainly a top talent and he would be a welcoming addition to the Reds.

The price, of course, is quite high, especially with the outside circumstances and Bournemouth’s relegation taken into account, but it does feel like the 23-year-old has very much warranted it.

And if the Reds don’t pull the trigger, someone else definitely will.
