A partida contra o Criciúma pode decretar a volta do Botafogo à elite do futebol nacional. According to The Athletic, Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram is of interest to Steven Gerrard with the Scottish Premiership front-runners one of several teams monitoring the situation.

The Blades triggered an automatic one-year extension to his current deal but talks over an extension appear to be wavering.

It remains to be seen what sort of fee would tempt Chris Wilder into a sale and much of it could depend on the Yorkshiremen getting John Swift’s £4m move over the line.

Lundstram is currently rated at £7.2m by Transfermarkt.

Bye-bye Kamara?

As audacious as it is, if Rangers can pull this one off, then Ross Wilson should be lauded from the treetops as it would be a phenomenal swoop for a player who’s been regularly featuring in the top-flight this season.

Per WhoScored, the 26-year-old provided five goals and three assists from a predominantly defensive midfield position. His box-to-box abilities are further emphasised when delving into the numbers a bit more – the Liverpudlian averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.3 clearances, 1.3 shots and 2.5 long balls per game.

His Blades teammate Billy Sharp adds further weight to that, describing the 5 foot 11 powerhouse as a “real menace” whilst Wilder has called him an “outstanding” player as well as a “fantastic example of a professional”.

Lundstram’s playing style has been likened to Frank Lampard in the past, which means there’s a bit of Gerrard about him too.

Coincidentally, United like the look of Glen Kamara, who has attracted interest from numerous teams this summer, so could it be a case of one in, one out at Ibrox soon?

The Scottish giants can’t go wrong with Lundstram either way.

Leeds United are finally back in the Premier League after 16 years out in the cold, and they’ve wasted little time in picking up where they left off, making a number of big-money signings.

The Whites have one of the most talented managers in the world at the helm, but their promotion squad was filled with players that finished in the bottom half of the Championship before Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival, and he’s needed investment to build a team capable of competing in the Premier League.

The investment has certainly been there, but are the players they’ve brought in good enough? We’ve had a go at ranking Leeds’ signings so far…

Illan Meslier 5/5

This one scores a 5/5 because it was a signing Leeds simply had to make.

United had an option to buy the French goalkeeper for around £5m after his initial loan spell, and with seven clean sheets in his 10 Championship appearances last season, it was certainly worth rolling the dice on this one.

Whether or not he’s up to scratch in terms of being ready for the Premier League remains to be seen, but £5m already looks like a bargain for him.

Jack Harrison 5/5

Signing Jack Harrison on loan for another year instead of activating his option to buy was another clever move from Victor Orta at Leeds.

Harrison was one of United’s best players last season, crafting more assists than any other player, but he’s unproven at Premier League level, so splashing £8m on a player who may not be able to perform in the top-flight would have been a risk.

Leeds retain their option to buy next summer, but they now have a season to assess how effective Harrison will be at this level, and if he isn’t good enough, they can just send him back to Manchester City.

Robin Koch 3/5

Robin Koch would certainly score higher if he wasn’t a like-for-like replacement for Ben White.

Koch is undoubtedly a talented centre-back, he’s been capped by Germany and has been admired by some big clubs in the past 12 months, but he has massive shoes to fill after White’s incredible season in the Championship, and with the Brighton man being valued at over £30m and touted as better than John Stones, Koch will have to be a special player to eclipse what White brought to the side.

Koch won’t improve Leeds’ backline massively due to how good it already was with White at the back, but if he can bring more of the same, he will still be seen as a cracking signing.

Leeds United have been crying out for a goalscorer since day one of Marcelo Bielsa’s reign.

Patrick Bamford’s xG made for nightmare-inducing reading last season, with his final goal tally sitting a stunning 18.77 behind what was expected from him.

So, signing a £27m striker seemed like a bit of a no-brainer this summer, but once again, Leeds are left with a forward who doesn’t seem to be a natural finisher, with Rodrigo scoring just four league goals last term.

Of course, Bielsa’s strikers are about work-rate and link-up play as well, and the Spaniard could excel in those areas, but Leeds aren’t going to be a dominant force in the Premier League like they were in the Championship, so chances will be rarer, and they need to be taken.

Unfortunately, the 29-year-old doesn’t look like being that man, and this could end up being quite a poor signing for the club.

وأردف: “عبد الله السعيد تاريخ كبير ويستحق كل خير، إنسان جيد ومحترم، لو كان استمر في الأهلي ووصل لمائة هدف سيكون في مكانة أخرى، لم أعرف سبب رحيله، كانت هناك ظروف كثيرة جدًا حدثت قبل رحيله أنا لا أعلم عنها شيئًا”.

واستكمل: “تلقيت عرضًا من بيراميدز منذ سنوات وكان بمقابل مادي كبير ورفضت، بعد النادي الأهلي لا يليق أن ألعب في ناد آخر حتى لو هناك إغراءات مالية، تعبت من أجل الوصول للأهلي”.

واستطرد: “مع احترامي للزمالك، ولكن أنا كوليد لا أحب أن يصنع لاعب تاريخًا في ناد ثم يهدره في ناد آخر، مع احترامي لأي ناد حتى لو في الزمالك”.

O atacante Fred alcançou mais uma marca histórica no Fluminense. Com o gol marcado diante do Avaí, na vitória por 3 a 1 no Espiríto Santo, o camisa 9 se tornou o quinto maior artilheiro da história do clube. Ele chegou ao gol de número 161 com a camisa tricolor e igualou Welfare, que atuou no clube em 165 jogos entre 1913 e 1924.

Fred vem quebrando muito recordes com a camisa do Fluminense. Desde que chegou ao clube, o atacante só não foi o principal artilheiro do time no ano em uma temporada: 2013. Naquele ano, ele atuou apenas até agosto, quando sofreu uma grave lesão muscular na coxa direita, que o tirou de combate.

Como tem contrato até 2018, a tendência é que Fred ultrapasse ainda Orlando Pingo de Ouro, que marcou 184 vezes pelo Fluminense. Se mantiver a média de mais de 20 gols por ano, o camisa 9 deve assumir a segunda colocação até o fim da próxima temporada.

West Ham United appear to have missed their opportunity to sign Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic with reports Werder Bremen are in talks over a move for the Serbia international on Deadline Day.

According to Football Insider, Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen have opened talks with Liverpool over a potential move to sign Grujic on Deadline Day with both loan and permanent options on the table.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has given the eight-cap midfielder a green light to land a move away from Anfield before the summer window slams shut at 11pm, having hoped to cash-in on his services at around £20million following his efforts in Germany on loan with Hertha Berlin.

Grujic spent two seasons with BSC, for whom he struck nine goals and three assists in all competitions, but has only returned to Merseyside to earn two outings with both coming in the Carabao Cup.

West Ham were recently linked with a potential move for Grujic that could have pit the Irons against Hertha in any pursuit of the 24-year-old’s signature, however the Olympiastadion Berlin natives have since moved on to other targets.

Arsenal’s aid ignored by Irons

Hertha no longer appear to be courting the idea of re-signing Grujic for what would be a third season, having made great success in their efforts to take Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi to Germany.

Reports by Goal claim the Gunners outcast is in advanced talks to join Bruno Labbadia’s side on loan without an option to buy, after Arsenal failed to find a permanent home for the 21-year-old this summer following the breakdown in his relationship with boss Mikel Arteta.

Guendouzi’s move would have cleared some of the path West Ham needed to take if the Irons were to add Grujic to David Moyes’ squad, but instead appear set to watch one of the club’s targets head elsewhere on Deadline Day.

Grujic could have been the ideal late addition to Moyes’ plans given his former BSC teammates lauded him as the complete central midfielder during his time on loan, having shone from box-to-box with SofaScore data showing 1.1 shots and 1.9 tackles a game in the Bundesliga last season.

AND in other news, West Ham United are considering a late move to sign a Premier League player who recorded just 0.8 key balls a game in 2019/20.
