Leicester have the chance to put more daylight between themselves and closest Europa League opponents Sporting Braga this evening. The two have three points between them but a win for the Foxes in Portugal will be a huge boost for their 2020/21 campaign.

It will also put Leicester in good stead to top their group and finish on maximum points. However, Brendan Rodgers will be cautious of the fact that they play Fulham in just a matter of days and can’t afford to risk any key players.

With a dilemma on his hands, here’s how Football FanCast has predicted Leicester to line up vs Braga tonight…

The Foxes will be reeling after a 3-0 defeat against Liverpool ended their six-game unbeaten run. The reigning champions made easy work of bagging another Premier League win and have now leapfrogged Leicester in the table. Eager not to let it set a dynamic, Rodgers will be putting all of his focus into tonight’s tactics and we could see a change in formation.

Despite playing with three central defenders and deploying his full-backs further up the pitch recently, the boss could revert to a standard four across the back in order to maximise defensive strength. James Justin and Christian Fuchs will shift back as Rodgers could recreate the set up he fielded against Zorya last month.

After struggling against Liverpool and netting an own goal, Jonny Evans could be given a breather ahead of Fulham, with the lesser seen Wes Morgan stepping in to start. The £80,000 per week centre-back could make an appearance in the second half though.

Leicester will need the creative mind of Youri Tielemans in midfield but could also rely on Hamza Choudhury, who started the reverse fixture at the King Power Stadium with Wilfried Ndidi still out.

Kelechi Iheanacho will undoubtedly start after bagging two goals last time out, but his support may be altered a little. Ayoze Perez hasn’t started a match for Rodgers in more than a month, with Harvey Barnes now excelling in the team. However, the youngster struggled at Anfield and the Spaniard may finally get the nod to play opposite fellow winger Cengiz Under, with James Maddison pulling the strings in the middle.

It will be bold option to start Perez after he has fallen down the pecking order, but it could be the boost he needs to perform and stay happy in the squad.

وأضاف: “توصلت لاتفاق شبه نهائي مع المدرب، وكان يتبقى بعض الرتوش في بعض الأمور، وعدت إلى مصر وعرضت الأمر على الاتحاد، ولم يتم قبول طلباته المادية لأنها كانت مرتفعة”.

وتابع: “بعد ذلك تم التعاقد مع خافيير أجيري وطلباته المادية كانت قليلة، وكنت أرفض تمامًا تعيين أجيري للمنتخب”.

وأتم: “الزمالك يحتاج بشكل ضروري إلى تعيين مدرب عام مصري مع كارتيرون، لكي يستطيع تهيئة الأجواء في غرفة الملابس بشكل أكبر”.

واختتم: “كارتيرون يريد السيطرة على كافة الأمور في غرفة الملابس، ولكن الزمالك يحتاج إلى مدرب عام في أسرع وقت ممكن”.

Com a lesão de Diogo Costa, ocorrida no jogo do último sábado, contra o Everton, pelo Campeonato Inglês, o Chelsea intensificará as negociações para contratar Alexandre Pato, do Corinthians. Segundo o jornal “The Telegraph”, as negociações entre as partes acontecem desde a semana passada.

De acordo com a publicação inglesa, a diretora do Chelsea, Marina Granovskaia, está analisando a possibilidade de contratar Pato. Segundo o jornal, o brasileiro é visto como uma “alternativa barata” para o clube, se comprada às compras feitas no futebol europeu.

O jornal afirma que, se for contratado, Pato receberá 40 mil libras por semana (cerca R$ 230 mil por semana). Segundo a publicação, Willian, um dos maiores destaques do time atualmente, e Oscar, recebem cerca de 120 mil libras semanais.

O Chelsea não informou ainda por quanto tempo Diego Costa, que teve uma lesão na tíbia, ficará em recuperação. Questionado sobre a possibilidade de contratar Pato, o técnico dos Blues, Guus Hiddink, desconversou. O treinador disse que poderá utilizar algum jovem das divisões de base.

Depois de empréstimo ao São Paulo, Pato retornou ao Corinthians neste ano, mas não foi com a delegação para os Estados Unidos para a disputa da Flórida Cup. O clube tenta vender o jogador, comprado junto ao Milan, em 2013.

Segundo o jornal “Newcastle Evening Chronicle”, Pato teria sido oferecido ao Newcastle, também da Premier League, que não teria se interessado pelo jogador, apesar de querer comprar um atacante.

Southampton have recently been linked with a move for Celtic defender Jeremie Frimpong ahead of the January transfer window, which could spell trouble for right-back Yan Valery.

What’s the word?

According to The Scottish Sun, the Saints are keen on signing the former Manchester City man next month, as he continues to impress for the Bhoys.

The 20-year-old joined Celtic from the Citizens in September 2019 and has enjoyed a superb first year with the club, quickly establishing himself as a first-team regular in Neil Lennon’s side.

The right-back has 42 appearances to his name, in which he has contributed an impressive three goals and six assists.

Lennon will be desperate to keep hold of the young defender, however, as he was full of praise for him when he scored in Celtic’s win against Hibernian last year, saying:

“I’m just delighted what he brings to the game, defensively or offensively and there is as an end product as well.

“He put a couple of chances on a plate which we should have benefited from.

“He’s an outstanding talent who looks after himself. Watching him makes me tired, the amount of runs he makes, he wears people down.

“He is an amazing player. Amazing. With younger players, you want to look after them but you can’t hold talent back.”

Bye-bye Valery

However, with the Scottish side in poor form of late, with Lennon reportedly close to being sacked, there may be nothing he can do if Southampton come calling for Frimpong in January.

If he were to sign, you worry for Valery’s future with the Saints, as the Frenchman has failed to make a single appearance for the club this season, following the signing of Kyle Walker-Peters from Spurs in the summer.

Certainly, Frimpong’s performances for Celtic over the past year or so suggest that he would be a good addition to Hasenhuttl’s squad at Southampton, so it will be interesting to see if the Saints consider a move for the £2.7 million-rated defender.

Martin Semmens must push for this signing as soon as possible.

Felipe chegou ao Verdão em 2013, mas nunca brilhou. No ano passado, o jogador foi emprestado ao Goiás e desde dezembro está liberado para negociar com outras equipes. Seu nome foi indicado por Gilson Kleina ao Coritiba, só que o jogador aguardava uma oferta da Europa – a janela de transferências dos principais países no Velho Continente fechou nessa segunda. Seu contrato é válido apenas até junho.

Patrick Vieira, por sua vez, tem vínculo mais longo, até maio de 2018 e não está nos planos de Marcelo Oliveira, também. Emprestado em 2015 ao Náutico, o meia-atacante sofreu uma fissura na cartilagem do joelho esquerdo no fim do ano passado e agora está se recuperando na Academia de Futebol. Ele fará uma nova avaliação com os médicos do clube no fim de fevereiro.

Por conta deste problema, o estafe de Patrick Vieira não avançou em conversas com outros clubes. O Rio Claro chegou a se interessar no jogador para a disputa do Campeonato Paulista.

– Não abrimos negociação com nenhum clube agora, porque enquanto o Patrick não estiver clinicamente liberado, não adianta. Vamos esperar ele se recuperar – resumiu o empresário do jogador, Júlio Granja.

Writing on Twitter, Sky Sports transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has shared an exciting update involving Christian Eriksen – with Giuseppe Marotta confirming that the Dane has been transfer listed after Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a potential return. 

Eriksen, who left Spurs for the San Siro back in January to the tune of £16.9 million, could now be on the way out in January as the Serie A giants appeal to potential suitors.

Indeed, speaking candidly over his future, Nerrazzuri CEO Marotta has confirmed that the club are actively pursuing a sale mid-season – coming after Tottenham reportedly eye a return to bring their former hero back to north London.

Romano recently tipped that Spurs are ‘still thinking to’ Eriksen, with Football Insider also reporting that Tottenham have the chance to re-sign him in the winter window.

Charlie Eccleshare, writing for The Athletic, also revealed that the 28-year-old is a creative ‘option’ as January looms – and this update from Marotta, as relayed by Romano, could be a boost if Spurs do in fact wish to re-sign him.

“Yes, I can confirm that Christian Eriksen is on the transfer list,” explained the CEO to Sky via Romano.

“He’s gonna leave in January. He’s not functional to our plans and he had difficulty here at Inter. I think it’s right that Christian goes away to find more space”.

Transfer Tavern take

Much has been made of Spurs’ past difficulty to replace the international’s creative influence, but Jose Mourinho has arguably done a fine job of it this season.

Both Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele have thrived in the number 10 role this season, with it potentially being a gamble to throw in an unstable chemical like Eriksen who could disrupt the harmony of this squad.

Time will tell whether Spurs do lodge a pursuit, but it’s unclear whether this could be a good idea after all.

وكان الجهاز الفني لمنتخب مصر قد استبعد إمام عاشور بسبب إصابته بفيروس كورونا، ليغيب عن قائمة الفراعنة في كأس العرب.

وجاءت نتيجة المسحة الجديدة سلبية، وذلك بعدما تعرض عاشور للإصابة بكورونا عقب مباراة الفريق الأخيرة أمام سيراميكا كيلوباترا ببطولة الدوري المصري الممتاز.

ومن المقرر أن يخضع اللاعب لبعض الفحوصات الطبية تحت إشراف الدكتور محمد أسامة رئيس الجهاز الطبي للفريق قبل الانضمام إلى التدريبات الجماعية.

يذكر أن الفريق كان قد حصل على راحة لمدة أسبوع على هامش فترة توقف بطولة الدوري الحالية بسبب إقامة كأس العرب، حيث من المقرر أن يستأنف الأبيض تدريباته عصر الجمعة المقبل على ملعب النادي.

When the January transfer window comes around, Victor Orta must yelp in horror at what could be to come.

In the last two years, his work with Leeds has been nothing short of a nightmare, but that’s not entirely been his fault.

In 2019, a deal had been agreed to sign Daniel James from Swansea. The winger penned his contract and was pictured holding a Leeds shirt at Elland Road. However, in the dying embers on deadline day the Swans didn’t pick up the phone and a move fell through.

Then, just a year later, a move for Jean-Kevin Augustin turned into a complete failure.

The Frenchman had enormous potential but he is failing to discover it, and his spell at Leeds summed things up. He played just 48 minutes for the first-team with a major flaw proving to be his fitness.

He didn’t work himself into Marcelo Bielsa’s plans and then a fierce legal battle followed. The Yorkshire side had an obligation to buy but failed to cough up the money required to RB Leipzig because of how the loan spell had gone.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look as though Leeds have learnt their lesson. That’s because they’re supposedly chasing Fiorentina striker Christian Kouame this month.

The forward, who earns £16k-per-week in Italy, has been nothing short of a flop in Serie A and has scored just once for La Viola. His season has been disastrous and bears huge similarities to the one that Augustin was having before he came to Elland Road.

He spent the first half of last season at Monaco but like Kouame, scored a solitary goal. Therefore, one has to question why Leeds are pursuing someone with such a shoddy record once again.

Of course, adding squad depth is important but Patrick Bamford has been the undisputed number 9 for the last two and a half years now. Even when he’s not playing well Bielsa still picks him.

Though, the fact of the matter, is that the attacker is in the form of his life. Bamford already has ten goals in 17 outings this season so it’s not as though he’s going to be dislodged in a hurry.

Consequently, signing Kouame would be nothing more than a waste of money. Like Augustin, he wouldn’t play and thus, would find it difficult to score goals.
