Swansea City’s automatic promotion hopes suffered another blow as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Cardiff City in the South Wales derby on Saturday evening.

Aden Flint’s early goal for the visitors was enough to settle the game at the Liberty Stadium, which ensures that the remarkable statistic of neither side having completed a league double over the other will continue for another season at least.

Watford’s comfortable win over Birmingham also means that the Swans slip further behind in the race for second place in the Championship, as they now sit six points behind the Hornets with nine games remaining.

One man who particularly disappointed in his derby performance was left wing-back Jake Bidwell.

Despite being rarely involved, Bidwell still managed to lose possession on 15 occasions during his time on the pitch and was also unsuccessful in both of his dribble attempts, to compound what was a truly woeful display from the 27-year-old.

Natural de Sapucaia do Sul e nascido no dia 31 de março de 1945, Alcindo passou por alguns clubes, incluindo o Internacional, antes de chegar ao Grêmio. Foi emprestado ao Sport Club Rio Grande, retornou ao Tricolor e se profissionalizou. A sua primeira passagem pelo Tricolor gaúcho durou de 1964 até 1961, período em que foi pentacampeão gaúcho (1964, 65, 66, 67 e 68) e ainda defendeu a Seleção Brasileira na Copa do Mundo de 1966, na Inglaterra.

Alcindo ainda passou pelo Santos entre 1972 e 1973, teve passagens por Jalisco e América, ambos do México, e voltou ao Grêmio em 1977, sendo novamente campeão gaúcho. Ele encerrou a carreira ostentando a marca de 630 gols.

David Sullivan must strive to reach an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of Jesse Lingard, amid claims of a potential permanent move to West Ham.

What’s the word?

According to TransferMarketWEB, the Irons are adamant that Lingard will stay at the London Stadium beyond his initial half-season loan.

The 28-year-old has proven a huge hit in claret and blue, with Lingard striking five goals and providing three assists in seven Premier League games.

Only against Fulham in February’s goalless draw at Craven Cottage has the England international failed to influence the scoring since leaving Old Trafford in January.

The Red Devils are expected to cash-in on Lingard’s blistering form under David Moyes, with the 24-cap maestro set to enter the final year of his £100,000-per-week contract in June.

Moyes recently declared aspirations of West Ham reaching an agreement with Manchester United to sign Lingard permanently, noting via quotes by the Daily Mail:

“He’s joined a good group of players. We’ve got international players and I’m hoping we can add to that in the coming transfer window. The job is to try to add to that. But I would hope Jesse sees this as a good place if it’s possible to be done, and if we think that we want to do it at the end of the season.”

West Ham were previously said to have sought the inclusion of a £15m purchase clause in the £1.5m loan agreement for Lingard, though Eurosport claim Manchester United rejected the terms as they expect his value to be upwards of £20m this summer.

Should West Ham sing Lingard?

Lingard’s promising early form at West Ham will undoubtedly help Man United set a higher asking price at the end of the season, but Sullivan must strive to strike a deal that sees the Warrington-born playmaker remain in east London.

Lingard hit the ground running for Moyes despite rarely getting a look in at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, with the 2017 Europa League winner’s only action before joining West Ham totalling 179 minutes.

Former Hammers head coach Alan Curbishley believes his time spent in the wilderness gave Lingard the fire in his belly to thrive at West Ham, telling Optus Sport: “He has been a revelation.

“He has come into the West Ham side angry because he cannot get into the team at Old Trafford. He has also come in hungry and that’s the sort of player you want.”

Not only has he been a revelation, but Lingard is arguably now West Ham’s most important player, with his intensity in behind Michail Antonio and emerging relationships with the likes of Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen bringing Moyes’ attack together.

Lingard’s ability to cause problems has also been at an unparalleled level, as shown on Sunday when he was alert enough to play a quick free-kick to catch Arsenal asleep, having already produced a sublime finish to fire a half-volley into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Curbishley and Moyes’ comments, plus Lingard’s incredible form, must surely act as distinct messages to Sullivan that West Ham have to seal a deal for the midfielder this summer.

According to a report by Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã, via Sport Witness, Tottenham Hotspur, and by extension chairman Daniel Levy, ‘admit’ they’re signing Carlos Vinicius on a permanent deal at the end of the season – but they are ‘far’ from paying his €45 million (£41 million) loan-to-buy clause.

Tottenham ‘admit’ Vinicius desire

Vinicius, who Spurs reportedly see as the ‘ideal’ partner to Harry Kane going forward according to this report, is now at the centre of a desire from Levy and co to make his move permanent, but only for a cut price.

Backed by manager Jose Mourinho, who reportedly said the club are ‘doing well’ by going for a ‘realistic’ purchase amount, Tottenham wish to sign Vinicius as a permanent Lilywhites player but only if parent club Benfica accept a lower fee – with Levy reportedly eyeing a cut price move.

Despite originally agreeing to a £41m loan-to-buy clause last summer, Tottenham ‘admit’ their desire for Vinicius but a deal will not happen at that valuation.

Transfer Tavern take

Tottenham chiefs ‘responsible’ for this stance apparently now see the 26-year-old as Kane’s ‘ideal partner’ – backing up a recent opinion by pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor who called Vinicius the ‘perfect player that Spurs need’ for that role (Football Insider).

Time will tell whether Benfica are willing to negotiate a much lower asking price for Vinicius, but Spurs reportedly wish for that to happen as this transfer admission emerges.

وتنطلق بطولة كأس العالم للأندية، في الفترة من 5 فبراير وتستمر حتى 12 من الشهر ذاته.

ونشر قنوات أبو ظبي عبر حسابها الرسمي على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي “تويتر”: “أبو ظبي للإعلام تعلن عن حصول قنوات أبوظبي_الرياضية على حقوق بث كأس العالم للأندية 2021 في الإمارات ومصر والكويت”.

وأضاف: “ذلك ضمن سعي الشركة لتعزيز المحتوى الرياضي والرقمي الذي تقدمه للجمهور وبما يتماشى مع أهدافها الاستراتيجية”.
