– Eu tenho o sonho de ser ídolo em um time como o Grêmio.

A frase foi dita por Pedro Rocha em entrevista ao LANCE!, pouco antes da final da Copa do Brasil. O jovem atacante – titular no esquema de Renato Portaluppi – se habituou a conviver com a desconfiança da torcida, que prefere Éverton no setor. Ou preferia. Na noite de quarta-feira, Pedro Rocha mostrou a que veio aos marcar dois gols na vitória por 3 a 1 sobre o Atlético-MG e deixar o ansiado título do Grêmio bem encaminhado.

O protagonismo do garoto no Mineirão não parou por aí. Advertido por tirar a camisa na comemoração do segundo gol, Pedro fez falta dura em Carlos César e foi expulso. No túnel, chorou. E lamentou não poder estar na decisão. De cabeça mais fria no dia seguinte à partida, o camisa 32 pareceu mais tranquilo e reconheceu ter sido muito mais herói que vilão.

– Foi uma emoção muito grande. Fizemos um grande jogo, não só eu, mas todo o time do Grêmio. Fiquei feliz pela minha atuação, tanto que tirei a camisa no calor do momento e acabei me prejudicando. São coisas que acontecem. Não era o que eu queria. Fico triste por estar fora da grade final em Porto Alegre, mas mais feliz por poder ajudar a equipe com os gols – disse o garoto, cuja carreira começou em uma escolinha do Galo, ao L!.

Pedro Rocha saiu de campo aos 21 minutos, desabou em lágrimas no banco de reservas e foi consolado por Renato Gaúcho. Após o jogo, o treinador disse que a expulsão foi justa, mas manteve o respaldo ao garoto, a exemplo do que costuma fazer diante da torcida.

– Ele (Renato) parabenizou todo o grupo pela entrega, pela atuação. Disse palavras positivas, de incentivo. Meus companheiros também me tranquilizaram e falaram que a expulsão faz parte do futebol – explicou.

Mesmo em vantagem após a vitória em Belo Horizonte (que culminou na demissão do técnico Marcelo Oliveira), o Grêmio mantém o discurso de “manter os pés no chão” para conquistar o pentacampeonato. O grupo sabe que a taça não está garantida e irá trabalhar forte para repetir a boa atuação diante da torcida, na Arena, na próxima quarta-feira.

– Maicon fez questão de lembrar que nada está ganho. Precisamos repetir a dose e fazer um grande jogo em casa. Não dá para entrar em campo como quem já ganhou. Fico triste por estar fora, mas nosso time vai entrar em campo determinado a ser campeão – completou o jogador.

Como lembrou o capitão gremista ao garoto, não há nada garantido. Porém, os golaços no Mineirão deixaram Pedro Rocha próximo de realizar o “sonho” de escrever seu nome na história do Grêmio. Afinal, entre gols, cartões e lágrimas, ele será lembrado como o jovem atacante que deixou a torcida a um passo de soltar um grito preso há 15 anos na garganta.

Renato deu espaço ao Douglas, por exemplo, que reencontrou seu melhor futebol. E aqui cada um está procurando fazer o seu melhor, tanto é que chegamos à final. Claro que tem a estrela do treinador também, a gente comprou a ideia dele, fechou com ele e estamos caminhando bem.

E qual é a ideia do treinador?
A ideia de um treinador identificado com o Grêmio. Ele é um ídolo que sabe tudo o que acontece dentro e fora de campo. Sabe o que nos ensinar, o que nos falar para tirar o máximo de nós.

Quais são seus planos para o futuro?
Tenho contrato com o Grêmio até o final do ano que vem. Quero terminar bem o Campeonato Brasileiro, ser campeão da Copa do Brasil. Também tenho o sonho de ser ídolo em um time como o Grêmio. Sonhei muito com isso. Estou nessa luta, batalhando. E quero chegar à Seleção Brasileira. Vou, pouco a pouco, buscando conquistar meus objetivos.

What’s the word?

Calciomercato claim the Irons have taken their first steps towards signing the Fiorentina colossus, alongside Manchester United, as the pair have inquired over his services ahead of the summer transfer window.

It’s thought that the Serie A outfit would be looking to seal around €30m (£26m) and that fellow Premier League rivals Spurs and Everton are also evaluating the Serbia international, though their interest is not as advanced as the aforementioned duo.

Milenkovic’s most likely destination is the Premier League and the report suggests that he has already ‘packed his bags’ ahead of the new season.

Major upgrade

Whilst a place in next year’s Champions League is now looking out of reach, David Moyes’ side should qualify for the Europa League, which would top off a fine season in East London.

But if they are to continue to progress at this rate and even contend in the competition, then reinforcements will be paramount. Of course, a new striker is going to sit high on the priorities, given an injury-prone Michail Antonio is their only senior option, but a new central defender shouldn’t go amiss.

Fabian Balbuena has some interest ahead of the window, whilst there are doubts over Issa Diop, too.

It leaves Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson, who are likely to be Moyes’ first-choice pairing anyway, though when the Scotsman switches to a three-man defence, we’ve seen left-back Aaron Cresswell drop in there, though his squad-leading seven assists shows why he’s needed on the flank.

And thus, a move for Milenkovic makes the world of sense – if anything, he’d be a major upgrade, given his age, experience and quality.

The 23-year-old could well be a perfect fit for the English top-flight as he cannot shake off the lofty comparisons to Man Utd legend Nemanja Vidic.

“Milenkovic is better than Vidic with the ball at his feet, and he is much calmer on the field,” Mozzart journalist Dejan Stankovic told ESPN. “He is the most talented centre-back Serbia have had since Vidic, and they definitely have one thing in common – both are fearless.”

Ability with the ball at his feet (85.7% passing accuracy) is certainly an attractive attribute to have in England and is also a vast improvement on both of Moyes’ current first-choice duo.

Whilst his 3.1 aerial duels won, 1.5 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game this season, via WhoScored, far exceeds that of Ogbonna (2.3 aerials, one tackle and interception per match) and Dawson (2.8 aerials, 0.5 tackles and 1.2 interceptions).

“Milenkovic has [the] physical characteristics of a beast. He reads the game well, plays the ball, and should have a great career ahead of him,” added his former Partizan coach Ivan Tomic to ESPN.

On the above evidence, £26m for a young, imposing 6 foot 5 monster with bags of potential is a pretty good deal and Milenkovic appears to have all the attributes to thrive in England.

Ogbonna came from the Serie A too, and was a success, so the Fiorentina man can do it too. Moyes must urge GSB to sanction this move in the summer.

O incidente com a Associação Chapecoense de Futebol emocionou todo futebol mundial, a NBA e outros esportes ao redor do planeta! Infelizmente, o acidente com a Chape se transformou num luto no esporte e para muitos brasileiros. A chegada dos corpos ao estádio foi acompanhada por todos, via rádio, televisão, internet em todo o mundo! Foi muito comovente e triste essa cena. Mas, psicologicamente falando, extremamente importante para todos os familiares, amigos, torcedores e admiradores da Chape, principalmente aqueles que vivenciaram a cerimonia no estádio. Importante para a recuperação emocional, mesmo após um sofrimento intenso e às vezes descontrolado. A intensidade e qualidade das emoções liberadas é que colaborarão no processo de luto.

O sentimento de luto é uma emoção muito forte e, como todas as emoções podem originar pelo menos duas atitudes, uma construtiva e outra destrutiva. A destrutiva caminha pela tristeza, frustração e depressão e a construtiva busca caminhos para a reconstrução.

Sempre, quando possível, tendo o suporte adequado, o melhor caminho é a reconstrução. Essa reconstrução deve estar baseada nos valores, nas crenças, nas alegrias, nas vitórias, nas derrotas lembrando as atitudes positivas que os colegas deixaram como exemplo, tendo orgulho e gratidão ao apoio recebido de todos (governo, federações, clubes, torcedores, mídia, patrocinadores e todos que sempre apoiaram ao clube). Mas, agora, o clube terá que mostrar que o clube está maduro e se reconstruir mais forte do que foi até a trágica terça-feira.

A Chape é o resultado de um sonho! E esse sonho deve sempre continuar, independente de quem são seus interlocutores! Sabemos que as pessoas não são permanentes, mas também temos certeza que somente a história que a Chape escreveu no futebol é permanente. Os que passaram na Chape até hoje, conseguiram concluir mais uma fase desse sonho. A Chape de 2016, através de todos seus jogadores, da sua comissão técnica e seus dirigentes trouxeram ele até aqui!

Quem entrar, terá o desafio, deverá ter a mesma ou maior determinação e motivação para reconstruir o clube por tudo que foi feito até hoje, dedicando cada gota de suor e lágrima a todos os companheiros que nos deixaram tragicamente e também aos que ficaram com a obrigação de fazer melhor do que eles estavam fazendo! O processo de reconstrução do time e do clube fará parte do processo de luto, mas tudo o que for feito vai ser também em homenagem aos deixaram o exemplo, a garra e o sonho vivo.

O presidente deve aproveitar as oportunidades e tentar melhorar o que foi feito até agora. Procurar montar uma equipe que o ajude a dar continuidade ao que foi feito até hoje. Agradecer a cada um, a dedicação, a determinação e tomar como exemplo para os que vierem tocar a Chape daqui para frente.

A Chape não é mais só um time, a Chape é um exemplo de determinação, de gestão, de garra, de honestidade, humildade e é hoje um furacão de emoções!

Chape, a sua força está no exemplo e nos sentimentos e emoções que você despertou no mundo inteiro.

Parabéns pelas vitórias e conquistas. A superação do luto a reconstrução do time será sua própria conquista. As vitórias continuarão, porque o sonho não é só mais de Chapecó. O sonho da Chape virou o sonho de muitos novos torcedores do Brasil e do mundo!

Many Glasgow Rangers fans were livid with comments from Scottish National Party staffer Rosa Zambonini following their Premiership title celebrations.

The Gers fans and players certainly enjoyed themselves this past weekend. The Ibrox outfit won 4-0 at home against Aberdeen on Saturday to complete their unbeaten Premiership season (BBC) and they were awarded the trophy after the game.

As such, thousands of Gers fans took to the streets to celebrate. While there was some trouble – 20 people were arrested (firstpost.com) – the celebrations were generally peaceful.

The players also let their hair down after what has been a long season. A video was shared online of the squad celebrating at a bar – something which enraged Zambonini.

She suggested that it was a slap in the face to the hospitality industry as the Gers were able to attend a drinking establishment while weddings, funerals and birthdays remain restricted. What she appears to have conveniently overlooked is that the video was taken inside Ibrox, and all of these players are part of the same bubble.

She shared her comments on Twitter and, as you can imagine, she attracted the wrath of many Gers supporters.

Cristiano Giaretta has been dealt a blow in his bid to bring Rodrigo De Paul to Watford this summer.

What’s the talk?

In a recent interview with The Athletic, the Udinese Calcio midfielder revealed that he would not find it easy to leave the Serie A side this summer, amid links with both Leeds United and the Hornets.

When asked about his future at the club, De Paul said: “It’s not easy to leave here. At Udinese, it’s a family, the club provides you with everything, even the simplest things, so you can concentrate on your football.”

Giaretta will be gutted

If the 26-year-old’s comments do indicate that he is uncertain about leaving Udinese this summer, it will undoubtedly come as gutting news to the Watford sporting director, who has been tasked with putting together a team at Vicarage Road who are capable of surviving in the Premier League next term.

And, after looking at his returns for the Le Zebrette this season, it would be very difficult to make an argument against the signing of De Paul having a tremendous impact on the chances of the Hornets retaining their status as a Premier League side come next summer.

Over his 35 Serie A appearances for Luca Gotti’s side so far this season, he has scored nine goals, registered nine assists and has created a whopping 20 big chances, in addition to making an average of 2.3 key passes and completing 3.4 dribbles per game, culminating in an extremely impressive average SofaScore match rating of 7.55 – ranking him as the club’s best performer in the Italian top flight.

As such, missing out on a player of the obvious talent of the £31k-per-week star this summer – whom Udinese’s technical director Pierpaolo Marino dubbed “world-class” – would be a devastating blow for the Hornets, as the £34.2m-rated Argentina international would undoubtedly be one of Xisco Munoz’s stars at Vicarage Road in their Premier League campaign next season.

وقالت إن ريال مدريد يعلم أن الصفقة ستكلف خزائنه الكثير من الأموال، وخاصًة وأن قيمة صاحب الـ”26″ عامًا السوقية الآن تبلغ 70 مليون يورو.

وأشارت إلى أن العلاقة الجيدة بين مسؤولي ريال مدريد وإنتر ميلان، قد تساهم في تقليل القيمة المادية للصفقة.

باريلا هذا الموسم مع إنتر ميلان ظهر بشكل مميز، والدولي الإيطالي شارك في 35 مباراة بمُختلف المسابقات وتمكن من إحراز هدفين وقدم 10 تمريرات حاسمة.

O Grêmio já iniciou o seu planejamento para ano de 2017. Nesta terça-feira, em reunião com o presidente Romildo Bolzan Júnior, o coordenador técnico do Tricolor, Valdir Espinosa, confirmou sua renovação contratual. O ex-treinador chegou a celebrar o acerto em uma rede social.

-Hoje em reunião com presidente Romildo Bolzan, acertei minha permanência no Grêmio! Na continuação do trabalho seguiremos buscando novas conquistas! Mais títulos virão!! – escreveu Espinosa.

A sequência de Espinosa já era esperada. Após a conquista da Copa do Brasil, em entrevista ao LANCE!, o coordenador confirmou que as conversas encaminhavam bem e que o acordo aconteceria em breve.O vice de futebol, Adalberto Preis, por outro lado, não teve seu contrato renovado, alegando que ‘questões profissionais’ o impedem de seguir no Tricolor. O clube ainda não definiu um nome para substituí-lo.

O Grêmio deve anunciar em breve a renovação do técnico Renato Portaluppi. Segundo a diretoria, as negociações devem continuar ao longo desta semana.

Liverpool are likely to loan winger Liam Millar to a Championship club for the 2021/22 season.

That’s according to Caoimhe O’Neill, a journalist for The Athletic.

The lowdown

Millar was part of the Under-18 crop managed by club legend Steven Gerrard, now in charge at Rangers.

Gerrard marvelled at his ‘turbo space’ and his relentlessness, admitting he ‘would hate to play against him’.

Millar was playing at Under-23 level for the first half of the current campaign – across 14 appearances in Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy, the Canadian scored five goals and provided one assist.

League One Charlton Athletic then gave him the opportunity to play regular men’s football, recruiting him on loan in January.

The 21-year-old made 27 appearances for the Addicks, contributing three goals and six assists.

The latest

Liverpool have already had ‘a significant number of enquiries’ for Millar from ‘several’ Championship sides, reports O’Neill.

The club believe a second-tier loan spell will ‘drawn an improved level of performance’ from him.

Charlton asked Millar whether he would like to spend another season at The Valley, but he ‘respectfully hinted’ that he wants to step up another division.

His future isn’t likely to be completely resolved until he returns from international duty with Canada – he’s set to feature in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July.

The verdict

Clearly, this is natural progression for Millar. Right now, it doesn’t look as if his long-term future will be at Liverpool, but he can still build his reputation out on loan and go on to forge a good career for himself.

And from the Reds’ point of view, a successful stint in the Championship would nicely boost his transfer value, or if he does go on to absolutely thrive in the second tier, perhaps he could serve some purpose as part of Jurgen Klopp’s squad in the future.

In other news, this in-form Palace star is a doubt for Sunday’s vital clash.
