O Vasco anunciou oficialmente a contratação do atacante Kelvin na noite desta sexta-feira. O jogador chega por empréstimo até o fim de 2017. Mais cedo, o Porto já havia anunciado em seu site oficial que o brasileiro estava a caminho de São Januário, o que foi anunciado pelo Cruz-Maltino por meio de suas mídias sociais horas depois. Ele será apresentado neste sábado após o treino da manhã.

Kelvin foi alvo do Vasco ainda no final de 2016. Porém, o Porto pediu o retorno do jogador para uma avaliação. Como o atleta estava sendo pouco utilizado pelo clube português, o Cruz-Maltino voltou a negociar e conseguiu o acerto.

Revelado pelo Paraná, o atacante foi ainda jovem para o Porto, onde sagrou-se campeão português em 2012/13, sendo o herói do título ao marcar o gol decisivo contra o Benfica, na penúltima rodada, aos 47 minutos do segundo tempo. Porém, nos últimos anos, o jovem atacante teve sua trajetória marcada por retornos ao seu país de origem.

Em 2015, Kelvin fez parte do elenco do Palmeiras que sagrou-se campeão da Copa do Brasil. No ano passado, o atacante ainda defendeu o São Paulo.

Kelvin é o sexto reforço do Vasco para a temporada. O clube já trouxe o lateral-direito Gilberto, o volante Jean, os meias Escudero e Wagner, e o atacante Muriqui.

Yorkshire Live wrter Steven Chicken has dropped a worrying opinion on Lee Gregory, regarding Sheffield Wednesday’s interest in the attacker.

What’s the talk?

Yorkshire Live writer Chicken has cast doubt over Sheffield Wednesday’s reported swoop for Stoke striker Lee Gregory. Football League World had reported earlier this month that Sheffield Wednesday are set to sign Gregory from Stoke on a free transfer this summer.

However, Chicken has now claimed that a move may be unlikely for Gregory. The journalist writes that Gregory’s wages may not fit in with what Wednesday will be able to afford this summer, whilst also ruling out a deal for Preston’s Jayden Stockley for the same reason.

Earlier this year, Derby boss Wayne Rooney claimed Gregory was a “handful” to deal with for opposition players and praised his enthusiasm off the bench. He told RamsTV, as relayed by Derby News:

“I thought Lee Gregory was great for us when he came on. He showed great energy and enthusiasm.

“He was a handful and I think he really lifted the rest of the team when he came on with his energy. I was delighted with him.”

Fans will be gutted

Sheffield Wednesday fans will be gutted if this update from Chicken turns out to be accurate. When the initial report from FLW came out, it appeared as though the club were set to sign an experienced, proven, striker at League One and Championship level.

That could have been a major boost to Darren Moore’s squad as Gregory has shown that he can score goals in the second and third tiers of English football.

The £12k-per-week dynamo has an impressive resume in League One and the Championship. In the third tier, Gregory has scored 35 goals in 78 games and provided nine assists. Meanwhile, Gregory has scored 40 and assisted 18 in 183 Championship appearances throughout his career. This suggests that he is a reliable player at Championship level and that he excels as a goalscorer in League One, the division Wednesday will be in next season.

If Wednesday do miss out on Gregory due to his wage demands then it could be yet another consequence of the ongoing off-field issues.

The Star reported earlier this month that some players were considering handing in their notices due to missed salary payments, as Wednesday continue to struggle with their finances in the midst of the pandemic.

Dejphon Chansiri has been struggling to pay his players and this could now translate into the club not being able to land one of their targets.

An update has emerged on Charlton’s summer transfer plans, regarding Wigan forward Viv Solomon-Otabor.

What’s the talk?

According to Nigerian Soccer, as relayed by the Sunderland Echo, Charlton are one of the clubs eyeing up Wigan forward Viv Solomon-Otabor. The forward is out of contract at the end of the month and the Addicks are weighing up a move to sign him on a free transfer, along with their League One rivals Sunderland and Portsmouth.

The report claims that the 25-year-old has resisted the temptation to sign a contract extension with Wigan as he is hoping that he can get a better deal, either from his current club or one of the teams interested in prying him away from the DW.

Earlier this year, Wigan boss Leam Richardson revealed that Solomon-Otabor has been struggling with a knee injury, which has caused him to play through pain. He told Wigan Today:

“Viv’s got an issue with his knee, where he’s got a couple of floating bones in there.

“Fair credit to the kid, he wants to play through the pain, and he’s having to be injected to allow him to do that.”He’s obviously only firing at a certain percentage, but he wants to be involved in the fight and you can only respect him for that.” Forget him

Thomas Sandgaard should retract Charlton’s interest in the winger and look elsewhere to strengthen Nigel Adkins’ squad this summer, as the Wigan man may not be a particularly wise choice to bolster the ranks.

Earlier this week, London News Online claimed that Charlton are keen on a deal to sign Liam Millar from Liverpool for a second spell and that should be a move the club prioritise over Solomon-Otabor instead.

Millar provided two goals and six assists in 23 League One starts for Charlton, averaging an impressive WhoScored rating of 6.90. Solomon-Otabor, meanwhile, scored twice and assisted four goals in 25 starts for Wigan, averaging a disappointing WhoScored rating of 6.55.

This suggests that Millar is able to perform consistently to a higher level than Solomon-Otabor, whilst also being directly involved in more goals than the 25-year-old Wigan man. Millar is also four years younger, which could mean that he has more potential to develop as a player and improve.

The £1.5k-per-week flop, Solomon-Otabor, should, therefore, not be a player Charlton sign this summer.

Sandgaard should sign Millar, if possible, or scour the country for another target to give Adkins the best chance of securing promotion next season. Charlton fans would be livid if the club failed to get Millar through the door and replaced him with an underperforming Solomon-Otabor, who is also an injury doubt with his knee issue.

Segundo informações do diário “Extra”, ao descer do ônibus da organizada Bravo 52 nos arredores do Maracanã, bairro da Zona Norte do Rio de Janeiro, o torcedor do Fluminense foi agredido com golpes de uma barra com golpes de uma barra de ferro na noite de domingo.

– Ele usava a camisa do Fluminense e estava com a faixa da nossa torcida numa bolsa. Roubaram a faixa, mas não levaram nem o celular nem a carteira. Além disso, ele só levou golpes na cabeça – contou o amigo de Pedro, que pediu para não ser identificado.

Via assessoria, o Tricolor das Laranjeiras ainda informou que uma equipe médica do clube foi ao hospital para acompanhar o tratamento de Pedro. A assessoria da Polícia Civil ainda não se manifestou.

He set a new record of most sixes in an innings for New Zealand, beating the previous record of nine sixes by Chris Cairns (120) – against Zimbabwe at the same ground in 1995-96. However, the all-time record is still held by Pakistan’s Wasim Akram who cracked 12 sixes during his unbeaten 257-run knock against Zimbabwe at Sheikhupura in 1996.Rather interestingly, Astle’s second hundred (from 101 to 200) came off only 39 balls in 69 minutes, which is believed to be a world record. According to newspaper reports, Wally Hammond during his triple hundred against New Zealand at Auckland in 1933 needed just 47 balls to go from 200 to 300. So that means, Astle’s second 100 in 39 balls is the fastest ever because the current actual fastest (from 0 to 100) was by West Indian Viv Richards, who took 56 balls against England at St John’s in 1985-86.In the almost 125 years of Test cricket, since it took its birth way back in 1877, there have been references of almost 5260 sixes or hits over-the-boundary ropes. Prior to 1912, many scoring strokes that obviously landed over the boundary but according to scoring regulations at that time were awarded only 4 or 5 runs.
