Leicestershire have signed New Zealand allrounder Grant Elliott as their second overseas player for the NatWest T20 Blast.Elliott, the 35-year-old whose international career has come almost exclusively in one-day cricket, is currently part of New Zealand’s World Cup challenge. He will be available for 10 matches but potentially more pending his selection on New Zealand’s tour of England.He has scored 1102 T20 runs at 26.23 with a strike rate of 136.04. He will hope to help Leicestershire into the quarter-finals, having previously enjoyed great success in the shortest format as a largely unfancied outfit.”I’m really excited to be a Fox this season and I’m looking make some valuable contributions with both bat and ball,” Elliott said. “Leicestershire will have a new look for 2015 and I’m ready to play my part.”Wasim Khan, chief executive of Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket added: “We are delighted to have somebody of Grant’s calibre with us for our NatWest T20 Blast campaign. Our bowling was very good today. Up to 44 or 45 overs, it seemed they would only score 300 but even restricting them to 340 was not bad. They have scored over 400 against Test nations. We have restricted them below that. That’s an achievement.”A greater achievement for UAE will be to leave the tournament with a win, and they have one more opportunity to do that. Their final game of the group stage takes place on Sunday against West Indies, whom Tauqir is targeting in what seems the same way the South African bowlers went after his line-up. “I don’t see West Indies as strong as India or South Africa,” he said. “We’d like to put up a better show against them.”

Sarfraz is the vice-captain but we decided together that we should give Sami Aslam a chance. He played quite well. Saeed was also rested. It had nothing to do with his performance.”Once again, he asked for time for the team to gel together and perform as a unit. “This is a totally new combination from the one that played at the World Cup,” Azhar said. “They played together for a few years. وشدد المصدر لـ “بطولات”، على أنه بالرغم من تأييد أكثر من عضو في المجلس، لقرار الاستعانة بمدير فني أجنبي، إلا أنهم استقروا جميعًا على تعيين مدير فني مصري في النهاية.

وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن اتحاد الكرة نفى فكرة الاستعانة بـ الدكتور جمال محمد علي في منصب المدير الفني، كما تردد في الفترة الأخيرة.

الجدير بالذكر، أن اتحاد الكرة يسعى لتعيين مدير فني جديد لـ الجبلاية، حتى لا ينقطع الدعم المالي الذي يُرسله الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم “فيفا”.
