Ahead of England taking on Serbia on Sunday, Stojkovic waxed lyrical about the 20-year-old and that his performances belie his age. However, he suggested they have a plan to combat the former Borussia Dortmund star.

He said: “He is a great guy. He will definitely win the Ballon d'Or in the future. He plays impressively, although he is young, he is strong, he has quality, he showed all of that at Real Madrid. It's really impressive how he plays. He's a very, very young guy… It's really amazing the performances he puts in every game. He's great for England, bad for us. But we will do everything possible to have control. You don't have to give him a lot of space, he is a very important player for the English team. We'll see on Sunday. In defense, of course, we have to be careful and show everything we did during our training."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Bellingham has been a revelation for Madrid this season. The former Birmingham City midfielder scored 23 goals and bagged 12 assists in all competitions. He also played a huge role in leading Los Blancos to Champions League and LaLiga glory. So, stopping the England man will be a big task for Serbia this weekend.

Tshwane Spartans assistant coach admitted that the 17-year old new recruit from Afghanistan was a mystery to them as well
Liam Brickhill04-Sep-2019
Afghanistan’s mystery spinner Waqar Salamkheil
Not many South Africans would have heard of Waqar Salamkheil, the youngest new recruit for the second season of the Mzansi Super League. Indeed, Tshwane Spartans assistant coach Mandla Mashimbyi admitted that Salamkheil “is a mystery to us as well” after the 17-year-old left-arm wristspinner was signed up for R180 000 (US$12,000) at the MSL draft on Tuesday. He has played just 12 first-class matches, one of which was a Test match – against Ireland, earlier this year. Salamkheil picked up four wickets in the match as Afghanistan won by seven wickets. Besides that, he has played in eight T20 matches, seven of which were in the Afghanistan Premier League. Salamkheil played seven games for Kandahar Knights, claiming ten wickets, and a video featuring a few dismissals of those got the Spartans’ team management excited.”We saw a couple of videos, and we really liked what we saw,” Mashimbyi said. “He is similar to [Tabraiz] Shamsi. He is going to bamboozle a lot of guys. Hopefully, he can do his job properly. It’s nice to have that mystery factor. We don’t know what he will bring, but no one else knows either.”Head coach Mark Boucher called Salamkheil’s signing a “brave” decision, and one that was part of a broader strategy to cover all bases after Spartans’ poor showing in the inaugural MSL.While Salamkheil has no prior knowledge of South African conditions, many of his team-mates will know exactly what to expect from the SuperSport Park pitch. Nine members of the squad, including Morne Morkel and Roelof van der Merwe, are either still playing their cricket in local South African teams or have been part of teams that have been based in Tshwane.”Our squad this time has got cover for everything,” Boucher said. “It’s massive to have guys who’ve played there before. They are comfortable in the surroundings, have good memories and have won a lot of trophies. That will play to our advantage.”Boucher added that the Spartans would remain on the lookout for a new captain, with AB de Villiers vacating that role this season. “AB won’t be captain, we’ve discussed that. He’s a fantastic player but he must go out there and play and perform like he’s been performing in the last while.”We have a few leadership options, we’ll talk to them and see how they feel. I don’t think AB needs that burden, he’s in that stage of his life where he must enjoy his cricket and that’s probably when he plays his best.”
Celtic have found themselves in a real race to land the Scottish Premiership this season as they battle their closest rivals to secure the trophy.
The Hoops are currently second in the table and two points behind Philippe Clement's Rangers ahead of tonight's round of fixtures in the top-flight.
Brendan Rodgers' side have drawn two of their last four matches in the league, which has resulted in their drop down to second place, and the Northern Irish head coach will be hoping to avoid any more dropped points this evening.
The Bhoys host Dundee at Parkhead and come into this match off the back of an unconvincing 3-1 win against Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers applauds the fans.
They were 1-0 down at half-time and needed two goals in stoppage time to secure all three points, as substitute Adam Idah made a huge impact off the bench.
Rodgers must now brutally ditch Kyogo Furuhashi from the starting XI in order to make room for the Ireland international to be unleashed from the start.
Kyogo Furuhashi's performance against Motherwell
The Japan international endured a rough 45 minutes of action at Fir Park before being hauled off at the break to be replaced by the deadline day loan signing from Norwich City.
After the match, Rodgers confirmed that the half-time substitution was a tactical one, although he also added that the former Vissel Kobe star did have a knock on his shoulder, as Kyogo was not providing the focal point of the attack that was needed.
The statistics back up that assessment from the Northern Irish boss as the 29-year-old lightweight only won one duel against an opposition player in those 45 minutes.
Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi.
Staggeringly, the Japanese forward also failed to complete a single pass to his teammates as all three of his attempted passes went astray.
He ended the half with a 0% pass accuracy, 0% dribble success rate, and one 'big chance' missed for the Hoops, which illustrates how poor the attacker's performance was against Motherwell.
Adam Idah's impact against Motherwell
After Kyogo's disappointing half of football, Idah came on to save the day with a superb performance and impact during the second half of the game.
The Irish marksman, whose display was hailed as "sensational" by Chris Sutton, did not take long to make his presence felt as he got on the end of a cross from Greg Taylor to brilliantly guide his header into the far corner to make it 1-1 in the 51st minute.
He then scored the goal to put Celtic 2-1 up in stoppage time, before Luis Palma added a third, in the 94th minute with a fantastic finish on his left foot from Alistair Johnston's cross.
The Norwich loanee did superbly to get across his defender and opened his body up to finish into the bottom corner on his weak foot, which showed great composure and quality at that point in the match.
Along with his goals, Idah's all-round performance was impressive. He won three of his six duels, completed one dribble, and completed 89% (8/9) of his attempted passes in 45 minutes plus stoppage time on the pitch.
These statistics show that the 23-year-old ace offered far more to the team than Kyogo both in his contributions in front of goal, in build-up, and out of possession, with his finishing, movement, link-up play, and strength.
Adam Idah's form for Celtic
The £23k-per-week striker did not arrive to much fanfare when he joined on loan, with no option for the club to make it permanent, from English Championship side Norwich on deadline day.
Norwich forward Adam Idah.
Idah had only started 12 of his 28 league appearances for the Canaries during the first half of the campaign, which meant that the Hoops – on the face of it – were signing a back-up from the second division in England to solve their goalscoring woes.
However, the Ireland international has hit the ground running in Scotland and possibly left David Wagner wondering why he did not start him more in Norfolk.

As you can see in the table above, the 6 foot 3 monster has provided Rodgers with a phenomenal threat at the top end of the pitch, with five goal contributions in four appearances.
These statistics, and his fantastic impact against Motherwell, show why the manager should unleash Idah from the start against Dundee this evening, as he has the quality to be a match-winner for Celtic.
Kyogo Furuhashi's struggles this season
Meanwhile, Kyogo should be brutally ditched from the XI to make way for him after his disappointing display at Fir Park last time out on Sunday.
It was, unfortunately, not a rare off-day for the Japan international as he has struggled at times this season, following on from his immense form last term.
The experienced marksman plundered 27 goals in 31 Premiership starts during the 2022/23 campaign but has not been able to carry that level of scoring over to this season.
Celtic winger James Forrest warms up with Kyogo Furuhashi.
Kyogo has played 27 times in the Scottish top-flight this term and has contributed with nine goals and three assists, which is a return of one strike every 204 minutes on average. That is down considerably from his average of one goal every 86 minutes under Ange Postecoglou last year.
His finishing has left a lot to be desired as the Japanese gem has missed more 'big chances' (13) than the forward has scored goals (nine), which suggests that he has not made the most of the chances that his teammates have provided him with.
A pass success rate of 67% and a duel success rate of 39% in the Premiership this season also does not suggest that he is making up for his wasteful finishing with quality in the build-up or out of possession.
Put simply, Idah has more to offer for Celtic in the number nine position than Kyogo on current form, both on and off the ball and in front of goal, which is why the Irish dynamo should be brought in ahead of him from the start against Dundee this evening.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and senior pacer Trent Boult have been rested for the T20 leg of the ongoing Sri Lanka tour. In Williamson’s absence, Tim Southee will lead a squad that includes a fit-again big-hitting keeper-batsman Tim Seifert and three spin options in Mitchell Santner, Todd Astle and Ish Sodhi.”Kane and Trent played an enormous role in our recent World Cup campaign and with a big summer ahead, we see it as a good opportunity to give them a rest,” selector Gavin Larsen said.Wicketkeeper-batsman Seifert, who had suffered a finger injury during the four-day Plunket Shield and later missed the World Cup, returned to the side, as did Tom Bruce. The aggressive Central Districts batsman wasn’t part of New Zealand’s squad for their last T20I series against India, but he was particularly impressive in the Super Smash T20 competition, hitting 353 runs in 11 innings at an average of nearly 40 and strike rate of 157.58.Seam-bowling allrounder Doug Bracewell, who had been included in the squad for those T20Is against India earlier this year – though he did not get into the XI – was left out now. Seth Rance was picked as a like-for-like replacement.Fast bowler Scott Kuggeleijn and allrounder Daryl Mitchell, the son of former All Black John Mitchell, have both retained their places in the squad as New Zealand seek to identify their combination for the T20 World Cup next year.”Following that amazing ride in the ODI World Cup, it’s exciting to begin setting our sights on another world event,” Larsen said. “The series in Sri Lanka will be a challenging one against a team who are tough to beat in their own conditions.”Our T20 team has been pretty consistent over the past couple of years and we’re really happy with the power and versatility we have in this squad.”All three T20Is will be played in Pallekele, with the first game on September 1.Squad: Tim Southee (capt), Todd Astle, Tom Bruce, Colin de Grandhome, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Scott Kuggeleijn, Daryl Mitchell, Colin Munro, Seth Rance, Mitchell Santner, Tim Seifert (wk), Ish Sodhi, Ross Taylor
Rangers are reportedly willing to sell an "excellent" player at the end of the season, with the individual in question out of contract in the summer of 2025.
Rangers transfer news
The Gers will be looking for new signings regardless of whether they win the Scottish Premiership title this season, and it's fair to say plenty of potential targets have emerged in recent times.
One player who has been backed to seal a permanent move to Rangers is Oscar Cortes, assuming he impresses on loan from Lens between now and the end of the campaign.
Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie will be out of contract at Bramall Lane in the summer, being available as a free agent, and he is also considered an option for Philippe Clement's side.
There is also a chance that current players could move on at the end of the season, with Cyriel Dessers one individual who has been linked with a switch away, as a shock claim this week revealed the Gers may look to part ways with a player who has thrived under Clement due to a desire to make the squad younger.
Now, it looks as though another Ibrox ace could be joining him out of the exit door, following a fresh claim regarding the Gers' summer clearout.
Rangers to put second big name up for sale
According to an update from Football Insider, Rangers "plan to accept offers" for Tom Lawrence to leave the club during the summer transfer window, seeing him as an expendable figure.
Tom Lawrence
"Rangers could sanction the departure of Tom Lawrence next summer, sources have told Football Insider. Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the 30-year-old could be sold with Philippe Clement keen to shape the squad in his image.
"Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that the manager is eager to lower the age of his squad and recruit young high-potential assets in future windows."
In truth, there is some definite sense in allowing Lawrence to enjoy a fresh challenge in the current window, considering he hasn't exactly been a regular under Clement so far this season. Only seven starts have come his way in the Scottish Premiership, with a further six appearances coming from the substitutes' bench, and he hasn't registered a single goal contribution.
The fact that the 30-year-old is out of contract next year also means that this summer could be the last chance to receive good money for his signature, rather than losing him on a free in 2025.
Should Lawrence stay on, it certainly wouldn't be a bad thing, however, with David McCallum praising his influence around Rangers' B team back in August, saying: "Tom was excellent around the group, sharing his experience, and we spoke before the game about that. That’s what some of these games are going to be about, when we get the odd occasion where a player, or two, drops down from the first-team squad to get important minutes."

Rooney, who is fairly new to the punditry gig after only retiring in 2021, was first into the BBC studio and was in a mischievous mood before working on the Netherlands vs France clash.
As he got ready for the coverage to begin, Rooney sat in Shearer's seat in an attempt to wind the former Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers striker up.
"You've been relegated, Al," Rooney said before quickly moving when Shearer entered the studio.

Despite sitting in 14th place and five points clear of the relegation zone, the wheels have well and truly fallen off at Crystal Palace this season.
Roy Hodgson's Eagles have won just six of their 23 games this season, drawing six and losing the other 11, including some punishing defeats away to Arsenal, Newcastle United, and, worst of all, Brighton & Hove Albion.
Along with having the sixth-worst defence in the league, the south Londoners also have the third-worst attack, and with star players Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze set for spells on the sidelines, the immediate future's not looking bright.

All of these things combined have left fans feeling understandably frustrated, a frustration that has made Hodgson's role untenable, and it's now a matter of when and not if Steve Parish and Co give him the sack.
Palace's managerial search
It was reported earlier this week that the club seriously contemplated firing Hodgson in the aftermath of their embarrassing derby defeat to the Seagulls on Saturday, but stopped short of pulling the trigger due to the trouble they are having securing a replacement.
A number of managers have been touted for the role, such as Steve Cooper, former Manchester United midfielder and now Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick and even former Wolverhampton Wanderers, Spain and Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui.
However, while all three of the aforementioned managers would likely improve things at the club, the best option might be the up-and-coming Kieran McKenna, who has been linked to the club several times over the last few months.
The Northern Irishman has done an unbelievable job for Championship club Ipswich Town, taking them from a middling League One side to one fighting for promotion to the Premier League.
While getting him through the door might be challenging, the allure of managing an established top-flight team with a significant fanbase might be too tempting to turn down.
How McKenna compares to Hodgson
McKenna has a slightly different background to most high-profile coaches as a severe hip injury early on in his career forced him into retirement at 22 years old before he could make his senior debut for Tottenham Hotspur, the side he spent most of his youth career with.
Upon hanging up his boots, he started to coach in the team's academy before taking the reins of the U18 side in 2015 and then taking charge of Manchester United's U18 a year later.
Two years after that, he was offered an assistant coach role by José Mourinho – which he kept following the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – before finally managing a team of his own when he joined Ipswich in December 2021.
Since taking the job with the Tractor Boys, McKenna has won promotion to the Championship with an unreal points haul of 98 and is currently just two points off the automatic promotion places in the Championship, with a game in hand.
With his record and personal story, it's easy to see why sports reporter John Chubb labelled the 37-year-old a "managerial genius", but how does his recent record compare to Hodgson's?
Well, in McKenna's spell with Ipswich, he has managed 114 games, won 65, drawn 31, lost 18 and averaged 1.98 points per match, whereas Hodgson has managed Palace for 37 games in this recent spell, winning just 12, drawing ten, losing 15 and averaging just 1.24 points per match.
